Is there such a thing as
love at first sight?
Or, is it something dreamed
up by a romantic type?
Based solely on perception,
vision before the eyes.
Surely such shallowness
can have no profundness inside.
So, no need for wooing by
verse or song.
Serenading with flowers
as the ardour’s already done.
For an enduring relationship
is this going to be enough?
To be able to work together
when life hurdles get rough.
Without the experiences
and memories to draw upon.
Does love at first sight
make a togetherness that’s strong?
I believe that love strikes and takes
many forms of disguise
To be truly loved should be
embraced by those who’re wise.
