she ran for the lift and jumped inside
controlling her claustrophobia preparing for the ride
squashed between bodies she began to perspire
to take her mind off it visualising a blissful log fire
each button pressed, there was no quick escape
still stuck on the third floor, and she wanted eight
coughing uncovered, and breathing too near
unpleasant odours becoming too much to bear
a bump and a shudder and a moaning within
the door opened sharply and just a brick wall was seen
anxiety rising, she raised the alarm
to start the lift moving and keep everyone calm
help came in a short while though it felt more like days
to fix the main issue to get the lift underway
now in the future when the eighth floor she was head
she’d opt for the stairwell and use her own steam instead
